Welcome to the new website for the Willamette-Columbia Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals. The Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (AHMP) is a hazardous materials professional organization that is comprised of 60 Chapters with over 8,500 members in 34 States, including the District of Columbia and Guam.

To earn the CHMM designation, an environmental professional has demonstrated the competence and qualifications to handle the responsibility for the complex aspects of hazardous material management.  They have earned certification in the management of hazardous material.  They are certified in the use, control, administration and training of hazardous materials or regulates hazardous materials.

Certification is awarded by the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM), which was founded in 1984.

The vision of the Willamette-Columbia Chapter of AHMP is to:

“To advance the art and science of hazardous materials management by providing service to our membership and community.”

 
The Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers (ACHMM) membership voted to change the organization’s name to the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals™ (AHMP) effective January 2009.
